We are dedicated to promoting and supporting excellence in nursing education, The Wilson Allen Health Careers Institute’s purpose and goal is to create and deliver programs that meet the need of our students.

Certified Nurse Aide Program (CNA)

The program will train students to be competent in the skills necessary to perform as a nurse aide, as well as prepare students to sit for the New York State Nurse Aide exam to obtain a CNA license.
Students will learn how to present themselves in a professional manner, understand emotional needs of patients, patients rights, legal and ethical issues, HIPPA, infection control, universal precaution, safety, anatomical and physical changes during the aging process, etc..
The CNA program includes both lecture and laboratory practice sessions. Each student must achieve 125 hours which includes 30 hours of clinical externship in an approved nursing home.
The CNA program is taught and supervised by Registered Professional Nurses.

  • CNA day program is for 6 weeks Monday to Thursday 9am to 3pm
  • CNA evening program is for 8 weeks Monday to Thursday 6pm to 10pm
  • CNA weekend program is for 11 weeks Saturday and Sunday 9am to 5pm
  • To register you need a high school diploma or GED, ID, Social Security Card
  • If you do not have a High School Diploma, please call at 347-435-0477 us to schedule a placement exam

Tuition: $1,800

Home Health Aide Program (HHA)

The HHA program consists of a total of 83 hours, including both lecture and practical sessions. Students will learn how to properly and safely provide assistance to wide variety of patients in their home.
Upon completion of the Home Health Aide program, students will have obtained the knowledge and skills necessary to gain employment as a Home Health Aide.

  • The HHA day program in for 4 weeks, Monday to Thursday to 9am to 3pm
  • The HHA evening program is for 6 weeks, Monday to Thursday 6pm to 10pm
  • The HHA weekend program is for 8 weeks, Monday to Thursday 9am to 5pm
  • To register you need Your High School Diploma or GED, ID and Social Security Card

ELECTROCARDIOGRAPHY (EKG) / PHLEBOTOMY TRAINING

Learn the skills and responsibilities of a professional Phlebotomist and EKG Technician. This course is a combination of theory and practical training. Live venipunctures will be a component
of this program. Upon successful completion, students will be eligible to take the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) exam.

Topics of instruction will include:

  • Universal precautions
  • Capillary punctures,
  • Complications of phlebotomy,
  • Special procedures
  • Principles of Electrocardiography
  • Perform a 12-lead EKG.
  • Understand the relationship of the cardiac conduction system to the cardiac cycle
  • Identify basic dysrhythmias and recognize artifacts.
